About the Department

Arabic Language

The Department of Arabic Language provides a comprehensive education in the Arabic language, its grammar, rhetoric, literature, and linguistics. The programme is built on a deep respect for the classical tradition while engaging with modern Arabic scholarship and contemporary educational needs.

Students study Arabic grammar (Nahw and Sarf), rhetoric and eloquence (Balaghah), classical and modern Arabic literature, and the history of the language β€” alongside practical courses in language teaching methods tailored to Iraqi secondary schools.

The department produces graduates who not only master the Arabic language but understand how to communicate its beauty and importance to a new generation of students β€” preserving and advancing one of the world's great linguistic traditions.
