About the Department

Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry provides a comprehensive science education programme covering the major branches of chemistry β€” organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical β€” combined with specialised training in chemistry education pedagogy for the Iraqi school curriculum.

Students gain both theoretical mastery and hands-on laboratory skills through regular practical sessions in well-equipped chemistry laboratories. The programme places particular emphasis on safe laboratory practice, experimental design, and the ability to connect scientific concepts to real-world applications.

Graduates are prepared to teach chemistry with clarity and enthusiasm at secondary and preparatory level, equipped with the subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise to deliver modern science education throughout Iraq.
