Chemistry
Developing scientifically rigorous chemistry educators through a curriculum that balances deep theoretical understanding with practical laboratory competence β producing graduates who inspire scientific thinking across Iraqi schools.
Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry provides a comprehensive science education programme covering the major branches of chemistry β organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical β combined with specialised training in chemistry education pedagogy for the Iraqi school curriculum.
Students gain both theoretical mastery and hands-on laboratory skills through regular practical sessions in well-equipped chemistry laboratories. The programme places particular emphasis on safe laboratory practice, experimental design, and the ability to connect scientific concepts to real-world applications.
Graduates are prepared to teach chemistry with clarity and enthusiasm at secondary and preparatory level, equipped with the subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise to deliver modern science education throughout Iraq.
Vision & Mission
Vision
The Chemistry Department seeks to spread and teach the scientific foundations of chemistry, providing students access to all its branches β organic, biochemistry, inorganic, physical, analytical, and industrial chemistry. The department aspires to be among the globally classified and recognised chemistry departments, distinguished in student education, innovative scientific research, and community participation that contributes to economic growth and keeps pace with the rapid developments of the era.
Mission
Facilitating higher education with high quality and mastering the training process, graduating students with the ability to work in various chemistry fields and to teach effectively. Building and refining student talents in all areas of chemistry while providing a research environment applying the latest technological advances to sustain national development. On the educational side, instilling in students perseverance, self-confidence, and continued pursuit of knowledge through sound scientific methods.
