The College of Education at Al-Farabi University was established in 2023 with a clear purpose: to prepare a new generation of highly qualified, research-minded educators for Iraq's schools, universities, and cultural institutions.
Our programmes combine rigorous academic content with practical teaching methodology, ensuring graduates are equipped not just with subject knowledge but with the pedagogical skills to communicate it effectively to the next generation.
The College serves five academic departments — English Language, Arabic Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology — each offering a four-year bachelor's degree leading to qualification as a secondary school teacher or academic researcher.

College History & Milestones
College Founded
The College of Education was established as part of Al-Farabi University, with an inaugural cohort across five departments: English Language, Arabic Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
First Research Publications
Faculty members produced the college's first peer-reviewed research publications, including studies in ecocriticism, Arabic literary theory, and applied linguistics — establishing the college's research identity.
Expanding Research Output
Research output grew significantly across all language departments, with publications in international journals covering pragmatics, drama studies, and computational linguistics.
Continued Growth
